Inside Ann Morrison Memorial Park, you’ll find a destination you and your furry family member will visit year-round. In the southwest corner is a 5.4-acre area designed with the two of you in mind called Together Treasure Valley Dog Island. This site has an area for swimming and playing around a pond. The city, as well as other private donations, spent $450,000 to make this a great place for pups to play.

But what puts the entire park on the map for dog lovers is that Ann Morrison Memorial Park turns into an off-leash park come winter. From November 1 until the end of February, this 153-acre park allows dogs to run and play off-leash.

Camel's Back Park — 1200 W Heron St, Boise, ID 83702

Offering stunning views of the Boise Foothills, Camel's Back Park is a picturesque spot for dogs and their owners. The off-leash area here allows dogs to explore the open space while enjoying the fresh mountain air. Additionally, the park boasts numerous hiking trails, a playground, and picnic facilities.

Castle Hills Park — 5350 N Eugene St, Boise, ID 83703

Sometimes the best dog park isn’t the biggest, but the closest. This 7.2-acre neighborhood park offers something for everyone in the family, including a 2.2-acre off-leash area.

The off-leash area at Castle Hills Park is not fenced-in and has limited times—sunrise until 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM until sunset. The boundaries are marked on a sign, but according to the city of Boise, the off-leash area is “designated by the property lines to the east, south, and west of the park, and the sidewalk, playground and tennis courts to the north.”

Cypress Park — 4382 Tableridge Way, Boise, ID 83716

Cypress Park is another popular neighborhood with walking paths, views, and off-leash hours. From sunrise to 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to sunset, you can let your pup off-leash in this park. If you live in southeast Boise, this could be a great park to meet up with some friends for a doggy playdate. The park is 7.3 acres, with 1.4 acres set aside for off-leash use.

According to the city of Boise, the off-leash area in Cypress Park “is located to the east of the tennis courts, shelter, and playground, on the inside of the sidewalk.”

Manitou Park — 2001 S Manitou Ave, Boise, ID 83706

If you come to Manitou Park with your furbaby, you’ll likely see dogs sprinting up and down the field or relaxing in the shade. Either way, your pup is likely to find furry friends here to wear them out.

In addition to the off-leash space, you’ll find restrooms, basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and a playground.

Mariposa Park — 9851 W Irving St, Boise, ID 83704

Mariposa Park is another neighborhood park that Boise is known for and is a favorite among locals. Mariposa Park is a butterfly-themed park that is great for kids and furbabies. There is a playground, but the highlight is the shared, fenced-in space for your favorite canine and the Boise Parks and Recreation’s “Monarchs and Milkweeds Program.”

If you are a parent to humans and canines, you can let your pup run and play while teaching your little human about caterpillars and butterflies—all at the same time.

Morris Hill Park — 10 N Roosevelt St, Boise, ID 83705

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, Morris Hill Park offers a peaceful retreat for dogs and their owners. The park features a fenced-in off-leash area where dogs can run and socialize. With its open grassy spaces, mature trees, and benches, it's an ideal spot for a relaxing day out with your furry friend.

Storey Bark Park — 430 E Watertower St, Meridian, ID 83642

Just west of Boise, you’ll find Storey Bark Park, located inside of Storey Park. Of the 17.85 acres, 2.25 acres is a fenced-in dog park with separate large and small dog areas. At Storey Bark Park, you’ll find restrooms, pet-waste stations, drinking fountains—for humans and canines—and even dog agility equipment.

Outside of the Bark Park, there are improved walking trails and dog-themed street signs. This is a really inviting park for pet parents and their furbabies.

PetIQ Dog Park — 3151 E Greenbrook St, Eagle, ID 83616

Redwood Park has plenty of open green space for you and your pooch. There is a walking path—to help with leash training—a fishing pond, benches, and even a playground for the kids.

The off-leash area is the entire park, with the exception of the parking lot and playground. There are specific off-leash hours from sunrise to 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to sunset.

One of the best features of Redwood Park is the pond. This pond is dog-friendly and provides a ramp to help pups enter and exit the water. There are often geese and ducks in the area for your dog to chase—or to help you with obedience training.
