Bayville Farms Park is a 68-acre park that was established back in 1978. It has an 18-hole disc golf course, baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, a children’s playground with turf grass, a skate park, paved walking trails, shuffleboard courts, picnic tables and picnic shelters, volleyball courts, restrooms, vending machines, and of course… a dog park!
This dog park is fully fenced-in with different sections for small and large dogs to play separately. And they have a designated third area so that they can rotate for maintenance. There are also waste stations, water stations, large shade trees, and benches. This park has a little bit of everything so the whole family can come and enjoy it.
First Landing State Park — 2500 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23451
First Landing State Park stands out with its historical significance as the first landing location of the Jamestown colonists in 1607. Marshview Dog Park is located within the 100-acre Marshview Park & Natural Areas. There are tons of wooded areas in this park, and it sits on Lake Rudee and the Oceanfront area. This park has ADA-compliant paved trails, soft multi-use trails, three small play areas, one large playground, three picnic shelters, restrooms, bike racks, and three different parking lots.
In addition to all of that, the Marshview Dog Park has four different fully fenced-in, off-leash dog areas with waste stations, benches, shade trees, water stations, a double-gated entry, and trails nearby, so you can walk your dog if desired.
Salem Woods Neighborhood Dog Park — 1525 Salem Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23456
Salem Woods Neighborhood Dog Park is 1.72 acres in size, with separate fenced-in sections for small and large dogs to play with pups of their own size. This off-leash dog park has a double-gated entry, benches, waste stations, water stations, and plenty of shade trees to help keep your pup cool during the summer heat.
Salem Woods Park has sports fields, a playground, paved walking paths, open fields, benches, picnic pavilions, restrooms, a pond, and it sits right on the North Landing River.

Munden Point Park is a 100-acre park that’s located on the North Landing River. Munden Point Park does not have a designated off-leash dog area. But it is a dog-friendly park, and leashed dogs are welcome to walk around the park with you as you enjoy the trails, the views, and the sports.
False Cape State Park — 4001 Sandpiper Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23456
False Cape State Park is a dog-friendly public state park with no designated off-leash dog area. Your leashed dog can join you throughout most of the park and on a boat, kayak, or paddleboard. Keep in mind that although leashed dogs are allowed here, they are not permitted in the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge area. You must enter with your dog through one of the other entrances or by boat.
This state park has beautiful beach views, picnic tables, wooded areas, walking paths, restrooms, boat launches, and plenty of large shade trees.
Red Mill Farms Park — 1900 Sandbridge Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23456
Red Mill Farms Park is a neighborhood park located next to Red Mill Elementary School on Sandbridge Road. This dog-friendly park has two lighted baseball fields, a playground, picnic shelters, and a shared-use path connecting to the adjacent neighborhood. Red Mill Farms Park is well-manicured with lush green grass, large shade trees, and paved walking trails. There is no off-leash dog park here. But your pup can join you for a stroll on a leash.
City View Park — 2073 Kempsville Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23464
City View Park is a 43-acre dog-friendly public park in Virginia Beach that has four lighted softball fields, a multi-purpose field, playgrounds, picnic shelters with charcoal grills, basketball courts, volleyball courts, paved walking/jogging paths, restrooms, and vending machines. You can make reservations to rent out the picnic shelters or the ballfields.
And your well-behaved dog can join you on a leash to walk around the park or enjoy the designated walking paths throughout City View Park. You’ll love the large shade trees, ponds, wooded areas, and well-manicured grass. There is no fenced-in, off-leash dog area here.
