Professional Pet Sitter (Contracted Position)

SCHEDULING FLEXIBILITY

Independent Sitters find flexibility in a Contractor position with Hooman for Hire. Sitters are offered incoming bookings with the option to commit to the booking or pass on the opportunity. This allows Sitters to build schedules that fit their lifestyle and goals. Hooman for Hire handles marketing and obtaining requests that fit Sitter's preferences, manages administrative tasks to keep bookings running smoothly, and provide a network of support in the field.

• Overnight Sitting (13-14 Hours)
• Personalized Boarding (24 Hours)
• Pet Transportation
• Housesitting
• Vet Tech Services: Nail Trims, Gland Expressions, Ear Cleanings

DUTIES

• Accept visits through our online system
• Meet clients at the Meet & Greet, understand the tasks you will be responsible for, and commit to expectations
• Follow all client instructions and uphold the Hooman standard
• Take quality pictures of pets and provide detailed reports to clients
• Form strong relationships with pets through knowledge and positive interactions
• Form a strong and trusting relationship with clients through communication and transparency
• Identify behavioral patterns that may indicate stress or cause for concern
• Maintain solid communication with the Director and Hooman teams
• Keep all client information confidential
• Prioritize the safety of pets and the security of the client’s home
• Ability to work independently

REQUIREMENTS

• Possess a reliable car with appropriate insurance
• Possess a smartphone to utilize apps, quality photos, and data
• Must have verifiable industry-related experience
• Must be detail-oriented and exercise appropriate problem solving
• Must be reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
• Must pass a 50-state criminal/background check
• Must pass a motor vehicle/driving record check
• Must be able to lift 50lbs, bend to pet's level, and keep pets active mentally and physically
• Pet First Aid & CPR Certification (ability to acquire through Hooman for Hire)
• Possess liability insurance (ability to acquire through Hooman for Hire)

PAY

• Daytime Services are hired hourly with rates ranging between $18-$23 (before tips, etc) depending on experience
• Pay for Sitting Bookings are determined by a variety of factors including timing, level of effort, and booking requirements
• Pay is distributed weekly along with tips acquired during the pay period (Saturday through Friday)
• Contracted positions will complete a 1099 form, taxes will not be withheld and will remain the full responsibility of the Contractor
