Dog Walker

Pups and Play SF, a reputable dog walking service-based business in San Francisco, is seeking responsible and dog loving individuals to join our team as Dog Walkers. This role involves providing attentive care and exercise to dogs in our care, ensuring their safety and well-being during walks and interactions.

**MUST have dog handling and animal care experience.**

**Looking for long term candidates. No summer positions available at this time**

We are hiring for two positions:

Position 1 Details:

• Days: Every Monday-Thursday after training period
• Hours: Approximately 5-7 hours per day, between 9am-5pm
• Flexibility: Due to the nature of our work with dogs, schedules may vary. Additional hours may be required on Fridays and/or Saturdays, with occasional early starts or late finishes beyond the typical hours.

Position 2 Details:

• Days: Monday-Friday as needed after training period. You would be a back-up walker.
• Hours: Approximately 5-7 hours per day, between 9am-5pm
• Flexibility: Due to the nature of our work with dogs, schedules may vary. Additional hours may be required with occasional early starts or late finishes beyond the typical hours.

**Responsibilities:**

- Safely walk and exercise dogs of various breeds and sizes in all weather conditions, adhering to established routes, behavior, and schedules.

- Maintain control of dogs to ensure their safety and that of others in public spaces.

- Follow specific care instructions and accommodate any special needs or requests from clients.

- Reinforce basic training using positive reinforcement techniques during walks as required.

- Keep track of key information such as feeding schedules, behavior changes, and health concerns

- Promptly report any incidents, issues, or concerns to management.

- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards for dogs during walks.

- Interact professionally and courteously with clients and the public.

**Additional Pay Opportunities:**

- **Weekends and Holidays:** Earn extra compensation for working on weekends and holidays, reflecting our commitment to client needs during peak times.

**Requirements:**

- Genuine passion for dogs and experience handling them in a professional or personal capacity.

- Basic knowledge of dog behavior and body language.

- Physical capability to handle walking, bending, and lifting associated with the role.

- Dependability, punctuality, and strong time management skills.

- Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions closely.

- Ability to adapt to a changing schedule.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a cohesive team.

- Must possess a smartphone for communication and scheduling purposes.

- Flexibility to work alternating weekdays during the training period.

- Must have a personal vehicle with a clean driving record, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance to transport dogs as needed.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- CPR/First Aid Certification (training provided as necessary).

- Previous experience in dog training, pet sitting, veterinary assistance, or professional animal care is advantageous
